Interior design isn’t just something to be appreciated within homes and private spaces, but there’s also many beautiful and interesting public buildings and interiors that you can view and visit around the world.
ON Running Headquarters, Zurich
This gorgeous workspace situated in Switzerland is a showcase of the mix of modernity, and nature. The running show company, On Running, wanted a place where the employees could embody the mantra of their work. The building is split into ‘neighbourhoods’, each being three floors, where employees can switch between them for different aesthetics and tasks, such as work vs socializing.

Each floor is designed to represent climbing a mountain, with the terrain changing as you travel up and staircases getting narrower. The lower floors are heavy and earthy, while the upper floors are light a aerie with forest theming to give the feeling of climbing up into
thinner air.

The materials used throughout are natural, and the walls can often be moved for an open feeling, where you can move around the space freely. One of the most interesting used of this is the pine tree suspended between two floors.

Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center
Originally a museum, the John Hopkins University Bloomberg Center is now a stunning space for learning and achievement. Not only is the building designed to match the aesthetic of the city and bring positive attention to the school, but it's also designed to be a functional school building with a well thought out floor plan and all rooms that a university could need.

"The 435,000-square-foot building features 38 high-tech classrooms, a lounge-style library, a multimedia studio, enclosed study rooms, a state-of-the-art 375-seat theater, three floors of conference centre space, a variety of workspaces, and landscaped roof terraces." (Archello, 2023)
