From Bathroom to Personal Spa

Everyone wants a personal spa, and it may seem impossible, but with these tips, you can upgrade your own home bathroom into something luxurious. Whether you have a small or large budget, it's more than possible to make it your own. Here are some of our favourite bathroom renovation ideas.

Try a Wet Room Design

A modern and elegant solution to help your bathroom look gorgeous is to try a wet room layout. This finish solution features tile throughout the walls and flooring which combines all sections of the bathroom into one complete room. This also has the added potential for an entire water safe room and an open shower without the worry of damaged floors.

Rainfall Shower Head

Want to try a truly unique and luxurious item? Rainfall shower heads are a great option! These both look beautiful and give the feel as though you're washing in your own personal rain shower. If you want an even more high-tech look, you can even choose an option with LED lights.

Install a Shower Bench

A practical addition could be a built-in bench for your shower. This adds a layer of dimension to your shower and provides an area to rest, prop up your legs safely, or store items. If you're on a budget, you choose a separate bench that is simply placed on the floor instead of being installed.

Bathtub Shelf

A great option for bathroom that includes a bathtub, is to get a bathtub shelf. Having one will make so you can't help but feel like you're in a spa. These can range in price from simple and affordable to beautiful and expensive to match your budget and project goals. You can even design and build your own if you love custom work.

Upgrade Your Shower Lighting

A modern and spa-like solution is to install LED lights throughout your bathroom and shower. This provides extra lighting and looks beautiful. When installed safely by a professional, these can be beautiful.

Textured Wall Tile

Accent walls are always a good design choice, and bathrooms are no exception. Try adding a textured wall to your bathroom to add personality and depth. There are a plethora of different styles to choose from, from stone to more traditional tile.

Separate with a Glass Wall

Why have just a single glass door or small shower, when you can section off an entire area with a glass wall. This would allow for all light to pass through and give a spacious feeling.

Unique Bathroom Mirrors

Mirrors are always a staple of any bathroom, so why not spice things up with a unique one? Even a simple change like a unique shape or frame can really elevate the space. One of our favourites that we've used in past projects are mirrors with irregular shapes.

Add an Accent Colour

Not feeling the more traditional pale and neutral colours of bathroom design? Try adding an accent colour to liven up the room and give it some personality. It could be simplistic, like adding matching towels and shower mats in a bright colour, or you could go all out with coloured cabinetry or tile.

Moody Design

Alternatively, you can design your bathroom to be dark and moody with a dark grey and black colour palette and black metal finishes. Adding warm accents will keep it from feeling too dark, though, such as gold mixed into marble or a wooden stool.
